A Chaotic Chase: Teen-Filled Car, Police Pursuit, and a Flipped Mercedes on the Monash Freeway

The chase began when the Mazda was spotted driving erratically in Berwick around 10:15 am, leading police on a high-speed pursuit. The Mazda collided with the Mercedes, causing it to flip onto its roof east of the South Gippsland Highway at approximately 10:25 am.
The 15-year-old driver of the Mazda was eventually caught by a member of the public and held down until police arrived. However, the remaining seven teens managed to flee into nearby bushland, evading capture despite the Air Wing being called. The only occupant in the Mercedes, a female driver, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was rushed to Dandenong Hospital, where she was stable, according to Ambulance Victoria.

The driver and passenger fled on foot, and the Nissan was traced back to a car park at the Cranbourne Railway Station, stolen on January 20. Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage to assist in their investigations.
